Probiotics and Prebiotics

Probiotics are live bacteria and yeasts that are good for the health, especially the digestive system. The usually assumption is that bacteria causes diseases, but the body is full of bacteria, both good and bad. Probiotics are often called "good" or "helpful" bacteria because they help keep your gut healthy.

Probiotics are naturally found in the body, It can also be found in some foods and supplements. Lactobacillus- This may be the most common probiotic found in yogurt and other fermented foods. Different strains of which help with diarrhea and help digest lactose, the sugar in milk. Bifidobacterium can also be found in some dairy products. It help ease the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

The loose of good bacteria in the body for example after the use of antibiotics is compensated for by the consumption of probiotics.They help maintain the balance between the "good" and "bad" bacteria to keep the body working like it should, but they are delicate — heat and stomach acid can kill them, rendering them ineffective before they’ve even been digested.
